Role Overview
The Market Analyst collects, analyzes, and interprets internal and external information regarding the commercial real estate market. The position also assists with communicating strategy to external clients, leading internal market and strategy updates, and leading research discussions. The Market Analyst will track and analyze all aspects of the real estate office and industrial markets, including trends in pricing, vacancies, new construction and economic conditions.
Job Description:
- Conduct in-depth commercial real estate market research, analyzing sales and rental transactions while gathering economic, demographic, and market data to understand investment criteria and market participant motivations.
- Collect, organize, and evaluate comprehensive due diligence materials including property reports, leases, legal documents, and financial information to support investment decisions and market analysis.
- Develop and maintain research databases while ensuring data accuracy through regular self-audits, validating information from multiple professional sources and maintaining precise property and availability records.
- Create compelling data visualizations, reports, and presentations using graphs, charts, and diagrams to effectively communicate market trends, patterns, and insights to management and clients.
- Interface with sellers, buyers, and brokers to gather market intelligence and collaborate on strategic proposals and presentations.
- Design and execute research methodologies including surveys, questionnaires, and fieldwork to gather specialized market data and insights.
- Analyze and interpret data from various sources to assess economic conditions and evaluate commercial real estate trends, providing clear and accurate market insights.
- Respond to internal and external stakeholder requests for market data, analysis, and commentary while providing ongoing financial and analytical support to management.
- Monitor and analyze internal operations through various reporting tools, conducting ad-hoc analyses as needed to support business objectives.
- Transform complex market data into actionable insights by identifying trends, patterns, and market drivers that inform strategic decision-making.
Job Requirements:
The preferred candidate will possess the following skills and attributes:
- A bachelor’s degree with emphasis in real estate, economics, finance or accounting related field preferred but not required.
- Familiarity with CoStar, LoopNet, and other CRE Industry applications.
- Self-motivated with the ability to contribute both independently and as a team member
- Demonstrate an interest in the commercial real estate industry.
- Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Office including Access and Power BI.
- Manage multiple responsibilities, changing priorities, and excel in a fast-paced environment.
- Attention to detail, positive attitude, and timeliness are a must
- Must be able to work autonomously within a collaborative and supportive team
- Ability to respond to changes in workflow and shifting priorities
Our Commitment:
- Base Salary: $50,000 – $65,000 per year
- Business Origination Commission: 10% of net revenue generated from any new client and work you originate for the company (this is not a job requirement, but it is a valued skill)
- Year-end bonus: 10% – 15% of base salary. Bonus range is dependent upon the company’s performance and revenue goals achieved.
- Total Estimated Year 1 Compensation: (base + bonus): $55,000 – $75,000
- Minimum three weeks of paid leave, excluding holidays.
